Tribal Health

Objective

To develop an integrated and sustainable system for primary health care services delivery in the tribal areas.

To provide RCH services to the tribal area who are not availing the existing Health care facility due to various barriers.

Strategies

Assessing the needs of RCH services in different tribal hamlets and areas of the state in 12 districts with concentration of tribal people.

Strengthening the existing health infra structure including provision of additional facilities in existing PHC’s.

Provision of exclusive outreach services to the tribal population through the services of identified NGO in the tribal districts in addition to the Mobile medical services of the provided at each Block.

Taking the services to the people through village health volunteers (VHV / ASHA) and training of ASHA for 25 days in spells as per GOI recommendation.

Community based convergence of other departments and bringing about intersectoral coordination with Tribal welfare, Forest, ICDS, Revenue, Agriculture, Education and NGOs etc.

Facilities

20 tribal outreach services have been operationalised in co ordination with NGOs.

Birth waiting rooms have been established in 17 foot hill PHCs to facilitate admission of pregnant mother prior to EDD for safe delivery.

Tribal counsellors have been placed in 10 institutions of the tribal districts.
